Here are some pics from one of my favourite films, LotR. Films made by director Peter Jackson and based on the novells
by JRR Tolkien. There are mutch to say about the books and the films. I'd like to take the chanse express my own apinion,
I love the book, they are very well written and ritch of detail. Tolkien relay manages to capture the mood of the moment.
And it's amazing how he has created that whole world, it's kultures, languages, customes, rases and history. Though not
all that's in the book managed to be capture on film, the feeling and the mood are the same and Jackson has realy managed
to portray the caracters truthfully. But sure, I miss Tom Bombadil and the ents didn't get quite the inportant part they played
in the book. And Faramir was given a litledifferent caracter. But novell and film are two different way of expression and
choises had to be made. I think Jackson made the right choises :)

Arwen, daughter of Lord Elrond.
She is an elf and therefore also a favorite caracter. She is in love with the dunedain chiftain
called Aragorn. He is mortal, and to be able to be with him and live a life by his side she will have to giv up the imortality
of her people. She also has two brothers that are not mentiond in the film but playes a small part in the novells.

Lord Elrond of Rivendell.
Elrond is Lord of Rivendell and were married to Galadriels daughter. He is also a ringberer and the
element of his ring is the sky ore the air. He is often called Elrond Halfelven because his father was a mortal man and his
mother an elf. He had a brother, Elrond and his brother was given the oportunity to chose what life they whanted to live,
the life of mortal men ore the imortal life of the elves. Elrond chose the elven life and his brother the mortal life.

Legolas, one of the nine in fellowship of the ring.
Legolas' ful name is legolas Greenleaf. He is acctuly an elven prins and his father is the elven Lord
of the forest Mirkwood in the north of Middle Earth. Legolas and the dwarf Gilmli form a rather strange relationship
in the corse of their journey of the fellowship, from beeing enimies to becoming true friends.

Queen Galadriel.
Galadriel is one of my favorit caracters, not strange considering that I love the elves :). She is
Arwens grandmother and also a ringberer just like Frodo. Her ring is called Nenya, and it's element is water. She rules the
realm of Lothlorien together with her husband Celeborn.

Gandalf the white.
In the first book Gandalf the Gray, ore Mithrandir as the elves calle him, is lost in the mines of
Moria. In the second book he returns, as Gandalf the White. Gandalf is acctully a maya, that is an ancient spirit sent to
Middle Earth. He is part of an order of wisards called Istari. The head of that order is Saruman the White, who sucomes
to the dark side. There are suposed to be five of these Istari but only three is mentiond in the novells, Gandalf, Saruman
and Radagast. Radagast is only mentioned briefly in the first book and is not in the film at all. Radagast's color is brown
and he is conected with the earth, animlas and al that grow.
Gandalf is also a ringbearer. He bears the ring of fire, the third of the elven rings of power, given
to him by Cirdan of the gray havens.

Boromirs brother, Faramir.
Faramir is Boromirs younger brother and their father is Denethor highcuonselor of the white city,
Minas Tirith. Minas Tirith was first caled Minas Arnur "the tower of the sun" and it had a twin on the other side if the river
Anduin caled "the tower of the moon" now named Minas Morgul since it's taken by the enemy. Faramir is mutch more sensetive
and humble than his brother. He is a ranger, the captain of a band of men defending the borders of Gondor by fighting the
enemy in the land of Ithilien. He is never tempted by the ring as his brother Boromir was. In the last of the three novells
"The return of the king" Faramir also falls in love with the Lady Éowyn, prinsses of Rohan.

Haldir.
Yet another elf that meets the fellowship as they enter Lothlorien, the land were Queen Galadriel
and King Celeborn rule. Haldir is pursuaded to grant them acces to his land and guides them to the city of Lothlorien and
Galadriel and Celeborn.
