Voyager crew

Here is a short introduction to the crew of USS Voyager.

jane.jpg

Captain Kathryn Janeway

She is a devoted and resourceful leader who is not afraid of taking chances if it means saving her ship or the lives of its crew. She would even consider risking her own life if it meant saving theirs. She was given command of the U.S.S. Voyager in 2371 with the mission to pursue a Maquis ship - onboard which Janeway's Chief of Security works undercover - that had been lost in the badlands. Both ships are abducted from the alpha-quadrant and Janeway finds herself having to make a difficult decision. One that will result in them being stranded 75,000 lightyears from home. Captain Janeway is dedicated to her crew and promises to get them home, no matter how long their journey will be. Along the way she earns their trust, just as they have hers

chakotay.jpg

Comander Chakotay

He is the former Captain of the Maquis ship that Voyager is sent to pursue in the badlands. After the two ships are stranded in the delta-quadrant and the two crews merge into one, Chakotay becomes Captain Janeway's first officer. Commander Chakotay and the Captain develop a close friendship during their long journey home. Even though they don't always see eye to eye Chakotay remains loyal to his Captain. Before he joined the Marquis, Chakotay was a Lieutenant Commander in Starfleet. He is a gentle man but resolute. He joined the Maquis for his principles; not for mercenary gain or violent outlet. Chakotay traces his roots back to the Maya and Rubbertree people. He often looks to his spiritual Mayan background for inner comfort and he doesn't mind sharing that belief with others.

Tuvok

He is the Vulcan Security Chief and Tactical officer who had gone undercover for Janeway to infiltrate the Maquis as a part of Chakotay's crew when both Voyager and Chakotay's ship are lost in the badlands. Tuvok has left behind a wife and four children and he misses them, but without the emotional attachment humans have. Like all Vulcans he has his feelings under control and is like the ever fixed mark that looks upon tempest but is never shaken.

B'Ellana Torres

After two troubled years at the Starfleet Academy Torres leaves school: it was a mutual agreement. Later she joined the Maquis rebellion in its early stages and by mid-2370 was the Chief Engineer of the former Starfleet officer Chakotay's crew. When the Maquis crew is merged with the crew of Voyager, Captain Janeway gives her the rank of Lieutenant and makes her the Chief Engineer. Torres is half Klingon. She grew up with her Klingon mother and sometimes seems to have a hard time accepting her Klingon heritage. She is knowledgeable and despite her sometimes hot temper - or thanks to it - she manages to get the Voyager crew through many difficult times.

Tom Paris

Tom Paris was born into a long line of distinguished Starfleet officers and he has trouble living up to their standards in his father's eyes, who is an Admiral in Starfleet. Tom managed to get through Starfleet Academy after four stormy years however an incident leads to him leaving Starfleet so he joins the Maquis for fulfillment. He is captured on his first mission by Starfleet and sentenced to the Federation Penal Settlemant near Auckland, New Zeeland. Tom is given a second chance by Captain Janeway who needed him to scout her through the badlands. The crew will benefit from his piloting skills as well as from his great interest in 20th century culture.

EMC

When Voyager loses their ship's doctor in the chain of events that results in them being stranded in the delta-quadrant the emergency medical holgraphic program finds himself as the replacement. He is thrown into the deep end of the pool and has to go past his original programming. He becomes a valued member of the crew and develops a personality guided by his student Kes.

seven.jpg

Seven of Nine

Seven is a former Borg drone who was liberated from the collective by Captain Janeway. Seven has her difficulties adapting to her new life on Voyager and initially needs constant assistance from both the Captain and The Doctor to develop her individualality and regain her humanity. Though the crew has trouble accepting her presence at first, she turns out to be a great asset to the crew of Voyager. Having been Borg she has knowledge that proves useful and she will turn out to be a good friend.

Harry Kim

Harry Kim is a young promising officer fresh from Starfleet Academy where he was the top of his class. He is on his first deep space mission onboard Voyager. When they end up being stranded 75,000 lightyears from home, Harry Kim is probably among those who has the most difficulties accepting the loss of home and family. But Harry finds a good friend in Tom Paris and the two of them make quite a pair. Harry also has a passion for music, he plays the clarinet and composes his own music pieces.
